Muse Tickets – Muse Scores a Spot on All Three ‘Twilight’ Soundtracks

Scoff all you want at the mention of the Twilight saga, but if you consider yourself an alt-rock fan you might want to give the vampire flicks’ soundtracks a listen. Billboard.com reports that British trio Muse is the only act to score a spot on all three of the films’ soundtracks. For those not paying attention to the Twilight craze (or maybe living under a rock), Eclipse is the third film of the franchise, and Muse provided the lead single of the compilation for the film.

According to Billboard.com, lead singer Matthew Bellamy “channels Freddie Mercury as he sweeps his way through a half-time section of pounding piano and intermittent drums” on the track, titled “Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever).”

Although the franchise’s fan base is admittedly mainly comprised of teens, Bellamy revealed that he is a fan of the Twilight films as well! The Daily Record reports cialis price that the 31-year-old singer/guitarist admitted that he is a fan of the films, saying, “Of course it doesn’t matter we have gained fans because of Twilight and that might seem to be uncool. That doesn’t bother me at all. As a band you are represented everywhere. We also have a gig for Guitar Hero, of all things. Muse as a video game-that’s something, right?” Muse’s song “Supermassive Black Hole” was featured on the original Twilight film while “I Belong to You (New Moon Remix)” was featured on the second film.

If you’re a fan of Muse but not of vampires, don’t worry, because Muse has some festival dates lined up for the summer and will tour in support of their latest album, 2009’s The Resistance, through October. Muse’s Matthew Bellamy, Chris Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard headlined this year’s Coachella Music Festival and will return to their native U.K. to headline the 2010 edition of one of the biggest music festivals across the pond, Glastonbury, in late June. Although Irish rock band U2 was forced to pull out of Glastonbury after frontman Bono suffered a back injury, Muse shares the bill with Gorillaz (U2’s replacement) and Stevie Wonder, among others.

Muse will perform at another music festival, Austin City Limits, in October. Along with Muse, the 2010 edition of the Austin, Texas (specifically Zilker Park) festival will be headlined by the Eagles, the Strokes, Phish and M.I.A. ACL 2010 will be held Oct. 8-9 and will also feature performances by the Flaming Lips, LCD Soundsystem, Deadmau5, Sonic Youth, Monster of Folk, Gogol Bordello, Miike Snow, Temper Trap, Girls, Broken Bells, Robert Earl Keen, the National, Norah Jones, Band of Horses and more. Muse will back in North America for concert dates come September, as the band is currently on tour in Europe. NME.com reports that while performing at Germany’s Rock AM Ring Festival on June 5, the band’s giant UFO set prop was so big that it blocked the channel’s Viagra Jelly signal to the event! According to a member of the band’s team, Muse’s UFO stopped MTV from broadcasting Slayer’s live performance. Despite the signal-interrupting snafu, Muse plans on bringing the UFO to the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury on June 26.
