Shakira Tickets – Taking Part in the World Cup
Latin superstar Shakira may not be making any goals, but she’s certainly hitting the right notes. Shakira joined several other musicians on stage celebrating Africa’s first World Cup tournament last week. It turned out to be a phenomenal musical kickoff to a joyous sports event, which has drawn in fans from around the world.
Shakira belted out the tune “Waka Waka” at the event, which was a tribute to the African people. Fans can catch a glimpse of the performance online if they weren’t lucky enough to enjoy it live in South Africa. Shakira’s debut came in 1991. At this time she was still relatively unknown, even in her home country of Columbia. Magia helped spread the word, even if she hadn’t been discovered internationally yet.
As Shakira was honing her vocal skills, she also joined the cast of a Columbia soap opera, gaining fame as a local television actress. In 1995, she released a follow-up to Magia, called Pies Descalzos. This album was a major success for Shakira and spun off singles like “Donde Estas Corazon?” “Antologia,” “Pienso en Ti,” “Un Poco de Amor” and “Se Quiere, Se Mata.” Eventually the album snuck up the charts to the number one spot and also went platinum in the U.S. This was a major turning point for Shakira and she spent several years touring in support of the effort.
Shakira had her eye on the U.S. market. It was here that she wanted to make it big and her next release proved to be even more popular than Pies Descalzos. 1998’s Donde Estan Los Ladrones? spent an incredible 11 weeks at the top of Billboard’s Latin album chart. It also delivered two number one singles in “Ciega, Sordomuda” and “Tu.” The record was also responsible for the worldwide hit tune, “Ojos Asi,” which further established Shakira’s credentials as a worldwide star and introduced her now-famous belly dancing moves.
In the early 2000s Shakira decided to work on her first English language album to be called Laundry Service. Upon its release in late 2001 it entered the pop charts at number three and spawned catchy hit singles like “Whenever, Wherever” and “Underneath Your Clothes.” After this sudden success, Shakira became a popular name around the globe. In the following years, she continued to issue albums in both Spanish and English to appeal to a much wider fanbase.
Her third English-language album She Wolf made its appearance in 2009. Filled with slick, electro-disco tracks, it comes across as an electrifying Brand Levitra pop/dance album. Notable songs include the title track, “Did It Again,” “Gypsy” and “Mon Amour.”
Shakira’s music is simply addicting. She has the ability to hook you into her beats and memorize you with her fluid dance moves. She may have started out small, but there’s no denying now that Shakira has charmed music fans from across the globe. Check out one of her upcoming shows.
