There are lots of things to do in the DC area like visiting Georgetown University and seeing the historic campus which educates some of our countries leaders. There are many events surrounding this prestigious setting.

Georgetown has many beautiful buildings with classic collegiate architecture. It also has a beautiful outdoors scene that is fitting of its East coast surroundings.

It has three main campuses in DC including the undergraduate campus, the Medical Center and the Law Center. The undergraduate campus and Medical Center are together in the Georgetown neighborhood.

Together, they form the main campus. Also, Tadacip Georgetown operates a facility in Doha, Qatar and villas in Alanya, Turkey and Fiesole, Italy.

Other centers are located around DC including the Center for Continuing and Professional Education at Clarendon in Arlington, Virginia. In its campus layout, the administrators frequently used a motif of traditional quadrangle design similar to much English architecture.

The main campus is situated on an elevated site above the Potomac Rover which overlooks the Northern end of Virginia. The main gates, the Healy Gates, are located at the intersection of 37th and O Streets, NW.

Georgetown University Medical Center is on a property adjacent to the northwestern part of the undergraduate campus on Reservoir Road and is integrated with Georgetown University Hospital, which is operated by MedStar Health. Georgetown Visitation, a private Roman Catholic girls high school is on land adjoining the main campus.

The main campus is a little over 104 acres in area and includes sixty three buildings, student residences capable of housing eighty percent of undergraduates and various athletic Brand Levitra facilities. Most buildings also employ Gothic architecture and Georgian brick architecture.

The outdoor scene includes fountains, green areas, a cemetery, large clusters of flowers, groves of trees and open quads. Also, the center of campus rests on Dahlgren Quadrangle, though the Red Square has replaced it as the focus of most student life.

One of the buildings, Healy Hall was built in a Flemish Romanesque style from 1877 to 1879 and is the architectural gem of Georgetown’s campus. It is also a National Historic Landmark that is a wonder to take in for people of all ages.

Both Healy Hall and the Georgetown University Astronomical Observatory, built in 1844, are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These are great sites to visit while you are in the DC area.

The Southwest Quadrangle Project was completed in late 2003 and brought a new 907 bed student dorm, an expansive dining hall, an underground parking facility and new Jesuit Residence to the campus. Many Jesuits live on campus and work as professors and administrators.

The school’s first performing arts center was named for Royden B. Davis and was completed in 2005. Also, the new business school building named for Rafik Hariri opened in the fall of 2009.

Future construction plans include a joined sciences center and expanded athletic facility. As a location, Georgetown is ranked nationally in the ten best college towns by the Princeton Review.

Perhaps it is because of the brilliant students, accomplished faculty and the beautiful campus. All of these things contribute to making this University a great stop on your DC vacation.

Aside from the main campus the town relations are often strained by facilities construction, enlargement of the student body which brings much more traffic into the area. Also, noise and alcohol violations have risen.

Crime is a persistent issue as it is in many downtown areas. Campus security responds to approximately 257 crimes a year.

The Law Center campus is located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood on New Jersey Avenue, near Union Station and consists of five buildings. First year students at the Law Center can choose to live in the single on-campus dormitory, the Gewirz Student Center.

However, most second and third year students live off campus. While there is limited housing near the Law Center, most are spread throughout the Washington metropolitan area.

In 2005, the Campus Completion Project was finished which added the Hotung International Building and the sport and Fitness Center. G Street and F Street are closed off between 1st and 2nd Streets to create open lawns flanking McDonough Hall, the main building on the distinct campus.
