Keep An Eye Out For A Jaguar SUV; They Are On Their Way

Are you in the market for an SUV, but wish you could get a Jaguar-brand SUV? Your wait might just come to an end soon, as you may start seeing these vehicles at Jaguar dealers sooner rather than later.

Speculation about the possibility of a Jaguar SUV has been ongoing for quite a while. Ford, former owner of Jaguar, denied that there were plans for a Jaguar SUV back in 2006. The current owner of Jaguar, Ratan Tata, the Chairman of Tata Motors, was recently asked as well, although he denied the claim, too. So, will their be a Jaguar SUV or not? Some believe that competition may force Jaguar to build an SUV, despite all of the denials to the contrary.

One good reason to assume that an SUV could be in the works at Jaguar is the stiff competition from other luxury models. Porsche, Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz all have at least one sport utility vehicle model in there lineup and this shows a commitment to the luxury SUV segment that Jaguar simply cannot afford to ignore. With those companys success, Tata will no longer be able to rely on Land Rover to be their luxury SUV and they will have to add a Jaguar to the mix, especially considering the rivalry that exists between BMW and Jaguar.

Furthermore, the notion of a luxury SUV has gotten some serious traction. These vehicles address a niche market comprised of people who like the capability of a four wheel drive vehicle, whilst also being wrapped in luxury. It is quite captivating to be insulated from the elements whilst overpowering them at the same time.

So what exactly are these denials all about? Why would Tata appear to be so opposed to a Jaguar SUV?

Well, for one, Tata Motors has only recently Kamagra jelly acquired Jaguar from Ford. Ford already had plans for the XK range and to facelift the XJ models. By carrying out those plans during the initial management phase, Jaguar will experience a smooth transition of ownership. Also, Tata would like for Jaguar to reach the potential that it failed to reach when owned by Ford. If this is to be carried out, the first priority should be to re-establish its luxury sedan and sports car models and Tata even has plans for a new XE sports car line, which will be lightweight with all new engine options and stunning looks.

However, Jaguar has flirted with the notion of a utilitarian luxury vehicle. The X Type estate four wheel drive, which is available in Europe, was released in 2004. Whilst not a completely serious SUV, the estate performed above most peoples expectations and equipped with four wheel drive, it was impressive in road tests which included traction control and descending a ski slope. However, it was low to the ground and more of a high performance estate than a bona fide SUV.

Really, though, competition is the main motivator in this discussion. As mentioned, other luxury carmakers have Tadalis SX already opened the door for Jaguar to someday enter the market. Furthermore, other companies who compete with Jaguar have decided that they need luxury SUVs to survive in the ultra-competitive North America and UK markets. Jaguar may not have an SUV now, but it is only a matter of time before they will be available from Jaguar dealers.
