NFL Tickets – The 2010 All-Pro Team
Part of the fun of pro sports is trying to predict who is in store for a big season and who is on the decline. This is certainly the case for the NFL as much as any sport, particularly considering how brief a player’s prime can truly be. Let’s take a look at what the 2010 All-Pro team could look like for skill positions.
Quarterback: Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints. After winning the Super Bowl MVP, Brees is still in his prime. With an absurd QB rating of 109 last season, Brees is the most efficient quarterback in the league and is in a system in New Cialis Professional Orleans that he’s thriving in. Expect more big numbers from Brees in 2010. He’s got the leadership skills, the stats and the Super Bowl trophy all backing his name and he seems to keep getting better from year to year.
Runner-up: Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts. Aaron Rodgers would be another good choice, but Peyton is still dominant.
Running back: Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans. Johnson has a rare combination of speed, durability and exceptional field vision. While Adrian Peterson and Stephen Jackson are nearly as talented, Johnson’s ability to read defenses and burst into the secondary is unmatched in the NFL. Johnson also comes off a season in which he broke Marshall Faulk’s record for yards from scrimmage, becoming the first player ever to eclipse 2,500 yards in a season. As the game’s most electric player, Johnson also sells loads of NFL tickets.
Runner-up: Stephen Jackson, St. Louis Rams. Without the fumbling problems of Peterson, Jackson is a complete back who can do everything. If he played for a better team, Jackson would be a household name.
Wide Receiver: Andre Johnson, Houston Texans. Though there are a bevy of other good choices here, Johnson has the best combination of size, speed and hands currently in the NFL. Randy Moss is perhaps more dynamic overall on occasion, but is also entering the twilight of his career. Johnson is completely uncoverable and is a threat to post 100 catches and 1,500 receiving yards for the third consecutive season. With top-tier quarterback Matt Schaub throwing him the ball, Johnson is as good as they come.
Runner-up: Randy Moss, New England Patriots. In a contract year, expect big things from number 81 in 2010.
Wide Receiver: Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals. Oh, how everything changes in just a year. After the Cards nearly took down the Super Bowl following the 2008 season, everyone seemed to think that that Fitz was the best receiver in the league. After a relatively mediocre 2009 season, though, he’s somehow flying somewhat under the radar. Still, Fitz has had 1,400 or more receiving yards in three out of his six seasons in the NFL and has always had to somewhat split catches with Anquan Boldin. With Boldin out of the equation, though, Fitz will get most of the targets from Matt Leinart, which should get him back to elite status. There isn’t a more precise route runner in the league, and Fitz has a pair of hands to match.
Runner-up: Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions. Much like Stephen Jackson, Johnson has been somewhat overlooked in his first few years in the league because he plays in Detroit. With the right quarterback and offensive scheme, Johnson could be the best wideout in the league. He certainly has all the tools.
Tight End: Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers. Gates led all tight ends last season with 1,157 receiving yards, making him one of the most reliable receiving targets in the entire league, not just for tight ends. As the prototype of the new age tight end, Gates continues to frustrate secondaries and is simply a mismatch for just about any safety or linebacker that tries to cover him. With Vincent Jackson’s future in San Diego very up in the air at this point, Gates remains Philip Rivers’ go-to guy.
Runner-up: Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49ers. The tight end in the better system is Dallas Clark, mainly because he has Peyton Manning throwing to him. In terms of overall abilities, though, Davis is as good as anyone, including Kamagra Gold Gates. Davis had a breakout year in 2009 with 965 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns, helping quarterback Alex Smith take a much needed stride in his development. Expect more of the same in 2010.
