The old tombstones still have their peculiar yet charming tomb stone toppers – angels and crosses. The newer gravesites are plain. Fans of poets Percy Bysshe Shelly and John Keats get a kick out of placing flowers on the late poets’ graves. A few minutes in the cemetery is enough for anyone, so off you go to the next stop.

Basilica Clemente is not your posh cathedral. But if you look closely, the complex apse mosaic is colorful. However, the real attraction of this old church is underground. Underneath this church is an older church which was the ancient place of worship. The best time to go is in the morning when you’re alert or you might miss more interesting details of the frescoes on the walls. Be sure you get some of the postcards sold in the area. They make nice presents.

Rome has its version of Hollywood in the Tevere. Once upon a time, this enjoyed a golden age in the 60s. The Cinecitta was the apex of movie technology back then. It was here that Italian director Fellini created his cinematic masterpieces. Fellini was both feared and adored by women and his enemies.
