Year Round Fun to Enjoy in Utah
No matter what time of year you go, there is always something to do in Utah. This beautiful, mountainous state has so much to offer.
You may have already heard about the attractions, but what about the events? You will find many festivals and celebrations all throughout the year.
What month will you be in Utah next? Here is a list of the annual events.
Starting in January is the popular Sundance Film Festival which takes place in Park City. This 10-day event is fun for fans, celebrities, and Hollywood hopefuls.
Enjoy watching films or take a stroll through downtown; you never know who you may run into. In February head over to Bryce Canyon for the Winter Festival.
Or check out the Snow Goose Festival in Delta. This event includes learning about wildlife, a 10k race, dinner, craft booths and a quilt show.
March has a few more celebrations including the Spring Carnival at Brian Head Ski Resort, the Railroad Festival in Ogden, the Scottish Festival in Payson, or the Arts Festival in St. George. There is also a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration in downtown Salt Lake City.
Moving into April a fun Easter activity is to visit the Baby Animal Days in Logan. If you have kids they will love this event, they will be able to see the animals up close and even touch and hold them.
In May you will want to check out the Utah Renaissance Festival and Fantasy Fair, the Great Salt Lake Bird Festival, and the Scandinavian Festival. One thing women enjoy doing during May is visiting Brigham Young University for Women’s Conference.
This conference is full of classes and speakers to enlighten and teach guests. During the summer months almost every city in Utah has some type of celebration.
To name a few, Pleasant Grove has the Strawberry Days, Orem has Summerfest, Springville has the Art City Days, Payson has the Onion Days, American Fork has the cialis cheap Steel Days, Spanish Fork has the Fiesta Days and Lehi has the Round Up Days, there are many other “days” throughout the summer as well. Most of the celebrations are very similar from city to city; they usually include craft fairs, carnivals, rodeos and parades.
Also during the month of July you can find a great Fourth of July celebration in Provo called the Freedom Festival. This fest always has a huge parade, a big carnival, and plenty of vendor booths set up.
Also part of the Freedom Festival is Stadium of Fire. This huge fireworks show also has plenty of performances and usually a main popular performer.
Past performers have included stars such as Carrie Underwood, Miley Cyrus, and the Jonas Brothers. If you are not able to make it to Provo, many other cities in Utah also have Fourth of July celebrations with parades and fireworks.
Also during July is Utah’s state holiday, Pioneer Day. Many cities have celebrations to honor Utah’s pioneer heritage.
In Salt Lake City it is called the Days of ’47. There is always a large parade on the 24th of July as well as a big rodeo and fireworks.
A few other cities with Pioneer Day celebrations include Bountiful, Mapleton, Ogden and Logan. August has a few notable activities including the Bear Lake Raspberry Days and the International Jazz Festival.
September holds the Utah State Fair. This fair lasts over two weeks and has many concerts, exhibits, food booths and more.
Also in September are the Utah Shakespearean Festival and the Swiss Days in Midway. Moving into October you will find many fun fall activities including Corn Mazes, Boo at the Zoo, Haunted Houses, A pumpkin walk, and Get Bewitched at Gardner Village.
In November Moab holds a Folk Fest, and the Christmas season is started with the lighting of the lights at Temple Square and the opening of the Gallivan Center outdoor ice skating rink. December continues the holiday season with Festival of Trees and the Spanish Fork Festival of Lights.
The end of December has First Night, Utah’s New Years Eve Celebration. This huge party has most of downtown Salt Lake City involved.
Many restaurants have special deals, there are plenty of concerts and live entertainment going on, as well as kids activities and a fireworks display. As you can see, Utah is exciting all year round!
