Common Misconceptions About Link Building techniques
When it Levitra Professional comes to search engine optimisation and trying to climb the Google results ladder, everybody knows about the importance of good link building. It is however quite confusing as to what makes a good link and whether it is actually adding any value to your site. The following points will help you understand what does in fact make a good high value link.
Buying and selling links
Probably the most common misconception about buying and selling links is that in the end you will get found out and Google will penalise you. This is not true if you are merely buying links. Buying links although not particularly recommended will not cause your site to rank lower but it could mean that the site that sold you the links may be penalised and you will end up having paid for several links that hold no real value.
Follow/No follow attribute
Whilst everyone prefers a follow through link, don’t underestimate the power of no follow attributes. While it is true that a follow link counts as a vote for your website and in turn helps your page rank, a no follow link can be just as valuable in the sense that it is still directing traffic to your website and helping to promote it – so next time you are offered a no follow link don’t be so quick to reject it as it will still be of some benefit to your site.
Anchor texts
Some webmasters fail to take the significance of anchor text links into consideration, some do not realise that by placing specific keywords in the anchor text it can increase your websites ranking for that particular keyword. However it is all too a common site on the internet of seeing anchors texts containing the words ‘click here’. Don’t forget either that it’s not only search engine spiders that will be reading your anchor text so make sure your anchor text can be read easily by end users and that what it links to is what is described in the text.
Reciprocal links
Another delusion when it comes to link building is that by trading links you actually promote competitors alongside yourself. This may be true if you don’t pick your link partners wisely enough, it obviously would be a problem if you have a link partner who is a direct competitor to yourself and you are promoting a link to their website, especially if prices are mentioned on either site as it allows the end user to select the cheapest option. The important thing to remember with reciprocal links is to have a link partner who is in the same market as you but is not a direct competitor. For example if you’re a washing machine manufacturer a suitable link partner would be a kitchen fitter or electrical repair company, you wouldn’t link with a direct competitor such as another manufacturer of electrical appliances.
