Shopping Around in Colorado

There are many great places to shop in Colorado. If you need a break from the outdoor activities, they have your back with plenty of retail action.

While many in the Colorado area only spend money on camping equipment as opposed to a wardrobe, you can still manage to find great quality shopping at some of the world’s finest shopping centers. You can explore everything from luxury labels to discount priced stores for every style on every budget.

Not to mention, every area has a unique style of its own. Come and let Colorado’s sense rub off on you and your wardrobe.

The Cherry Creek Mall boasts the creme de la creme of brand name stores in Denver. Whether you prefer classic Burberry or the luxurious Lacoste, Cherry Creek offers the widest selection in Colorado’s premium label shops.

Department store anchors include Macy’s Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. The mall also has a movie theater and was recently renovated.

Also, a Nordstrom store is slated to open soon. The only think mixing is a vast food court.

It does have a small one, but it mostly consists of handfuls of fast food restaurants. Despite its mediocre food court, it has a great deal of stores to visit.

Another choice is the Park Meadows Mall which was built to resemble a mountain lodge with plenty of wooden beams and wide open spaces. The mall includes specialty stores like The Buckle which is popular amongst many youngsters and is known for its jeans which come with a free hem after purchase.

Other department stores in this mall include Dillard’s, JC Penney, Macy’s and Nordstrom. The food court offers a wide selection of venders as well and plenty of seating around a cozy fireplace.

There is no movie theater here, but it has plenty of shops to keep you busy instead. Save up for a rainy or snowy day and come in to enjoy the selections.

Another great choice is known as Flatiron Crossing which is located halfway between Denver and Boulder and serves as a convenient meeting place between the two cities. It includes department stores like Dillard’s, Macy’s and Nordstrom.

Other specialty stores include Coldwater Creek and Crate and Barrel. These two seem to match the outdoorsy styles often found in Colorado.

For even more entertainment there is a movie theater and several restaurant chains to keep you filled up like P.F. Changs and Il Fornaio which are located in the outdoor section of the mall. Make sure you keep up with all the options found here in Colorado.

Another destination is Denver Pavilions which was designed by architect I.M. Pei, who designed the Louvre pyramid in Paris. This shopping area boasts its open air feel in the sunny city.

It is conveniently located in the heart of downtown on the 16th Street mall. The Pavilions do not have any department stores, but feature many popular chains like Banana Republic, Victoria’s Secret and Forever 21.

Many other boutiques, bars and a bowling alley also attract many to this site along with its movie theater. The only issue left is parking, which starts at $3 an hour unless validated; it is a small price to pay for the grand experience.

The last option in Colorado is found in Colorado Mills. It takes the concept of outlet malls to its own unique level. Every store in the Mills offers merchandise at discounted prices in places like Ann Taylor Factory Store to Off 5th Sake Fifth Avenue Outlet.

Here is the place to find bargains for those who are willing to put in a little extra effort to look through the large selections. There is also a movie theater and food court on the property of the mall.

You should be prepared to search for the stores you wish to visit in here due to the more confusing layout which divides each section into neighborhoods. However, if you are looking for the next big bargain, this is the place for you.

Colorado has many other shopping destinations in between all of these, but the suggestions above are a good starting point. Come and get a feel for the great shopping in the area that is unlike any other.
