Spending Family Time in San Francisco

San Francisco is a bustling city with many things to do. With gorgeous beaches and a busy night life, there are plenty of activities to entertain you and your family.

Sometimes, it may seem difficult to travel with children and even harder to keep them busy and having fun. Here are some great activities in San Francisco that the entire family can enjoy.

Though the city is smaller in size than many others, with relatively few tall buildings, it is quite comfortable and easier to get around than other larger cities. This is a great convenience when you are traveling with youngsters.

There are too many things to do than can fit in one vacation, but here are some great ideas to have fun with your kids. Perhaps, you will find some suggestions you will try.

Fisherman’s Wharf is a great place for all tourists in San Francisco. They often have street performers which children typically love to watch for the enthusiasm, spontaneity and entertainment.

Also, you may want to watch out if you see a randomly positioned bush with many people staring at it. The “Bush Man” has an entire act which consists of hiding behind that bush and jumping out to scare people, but some small children find him frightening as he catches many people off guard.

However, it is a unique experience that you may not see anywhere else. So, watch out for it while you are in the area.

You can also find performers all along the wharf area at Pier 39 and Ghirardelli Square. If your children enjoy the shore, they can definitely find interesting activities here.

The Liberty ship Jeremiah O’Brien and the Pampanito submarine are open for tours. Also is the Hyde street Pier Maritime Museum.

This is a great opportunity for education and amusement. These tours involve a long boat ride in each direction with lots of walking around in places where running is not safe.

Therefore, you may want to take children ages 6 and older. Also, if this is something you are definitely interested in, you may want to purchase tickets early as they sell out and lines are long to get on the ferry.

At least if you get stuck in line, you can watch the people, sea lions and other occurrences in the area. You could also try arriving just before sailing time rather than waiting an hour or so in line.

There is also a museum called Ripely’ Believe it or Not in the area for some unusual sights and learning experiences that are out of the ordinary. A Wax museum is another option for your entertainment.

You can get your pictures taken with seemingly live celebrities all throughout history. You might also enjoy visiting the old fashioned arcade games at Musee Mechanic, which is surprisingly popular with kids who have grown up with electronics at hand.

If you need break from sight seeing and want to pick up a few new treasures, you might enjoy the shopping at Pier 39. It has lots of souvenirs and specialty shops to tempt you with unique items.

They even have a “left handed” store that sells supplies made specifically for people who are left handed. Also at Pier 39, there is a double decker Venetian carousel in the center of the complex which displays frequent performances at the Aquarium of the Bay, a walk through underwater attraction.

At the aquarium, you can see some of California’s native sea lions in their natural environments. Just know that restrooms in the area are a bit sparse, so you may have to plan ahead with little ones.

However, there are many places to catch a bite if your crowd gets rowdy and needs a bite to eat. While you are there, you will also want to check out the hot fudge sundaes from the shop at Ghirardelli Chocolate.

There are plenty of meal options to satisfy your whole family in the area from sandwich shops to burger joints. San Francisco Brand Cialis has it all to keep your family going during your next vacation to the area.

While those are just some of the suggestions to check out, there are many more even within the city. San Francisco has a wide variety of things to do.
