If you were to think of hot places to visit in the summer, Death Valley and Phoenix would come quickly to mind. I grew up in southern California where the climate is milder. We did have hot summer days but they evening usually cooled of and hundred degree days never lasted very long. The winters weren’t as mild as Phoenix but they were certainly bearable. My Grandparents lived in Arizona and we would often go to visit them during the summer. My mother’s sister lived in Phoenix so that was usually a stop on our drive to Grandmothers.

I remember one summer, in particular, we arrived in Phoenix late at night, the house was stiffeling. Phoenix furnaces are a option but Phoenix cooling a must. My aunt only had a swamp cooler and that didn’t even begin to cool off the 95 degree house. No one could sleep, we all just laid in bed and sweat. I remember getting up to get a drink and looking in the back yard at 1:00 in the morning and their little dough boy pool was full of my relatives who had given up the dream of Kamagra jelly sleep and were simply trying to stay cool. That is a sight I will never forget. They actually had to put blocks of ice in their pool to keep it cool enough to comfortably swim in. My grandparents lived in a little, one horse town, close to the Mexican boarder. My grandfather liked to boast about how he saved and paid cash for his house. His first house he paid $8,000 for and his second luxury abode we bought for $13,000. Considering he only made about $10,000 a year as a school teacher this was quite the savings. He never took out a single loan in his entire life. That is something to be proud of. But his house was far from luxurious. It was tiny, cramped, old and never had an air conditioner. We would sit in his house in July with a fan blowing on us. I am sure the house hit the mid nineties every afternoon. While I am proud of him for his thriftiness somethings in life are just worth paying for, and an air conditioner in Arizona is one of them!

Arizona is hot, it is as pleasant a place as you will ever find in February, March and April but come summer it is hot and that is what Arizona and particularly Phoenix is known for, hot, hot and hotter.
