Thinking About Buying A New Car? Why Not; Market Confidence Is On The Up
Generally speaking, things are starting to look that little bit brighter in the UK.
After a few years of doom and gloom whilst the recession took its toll, the country has now got a government in that appears to have not only realised that the UK is in a dire financial mess, but that is making plans to actually do something about it, hopefully turning the UK back into the country it once was.
This positivity from the new government is having a direct effect on the general public in various respects, as can be seen in the confidence that they have in terms of buying cars. According to a recent article by the BBC, new car sales were up by almost 11 percent in June 2010, compared to the same time in 2009.
If you’re getting carried along in this wave of positivity – which is understandable as so many people are – and are considering buying a car, it’s not unusual for you to not know which car it is you’re after or more importantly, which is best for you.
For example, almost every major manufacturer in the world has a dealership in the UK, from the common Kamagra Soft Vauxhall and Citroen forecourts to the more high end and less produced Rolls Royces and Maseratis.
And you can’t forget about all of the American manufacturers that have entered the UK market over the past decade.
Several manufacturers from across the Atlantic have been selling cars in the UK for years – Ford, for example, have had cars for sale in the UK since 1903, when a small shipment of Model As were brought across to be sold to the UK car market, which was then still very much in its infancy – whereas others have only made the leap across the pond since the turn of the millennium.
Dodge dealers, for instance, have been popping up all across the country over the past ten years, selling variations of cars which have been popular in America for years. Chrysler and Jeep (who alongside Dodge dealers are in fact all owned by the same company – Chrysler) are two other fantastic examples of manufacturers coming over from America and to a certain extent, starting to dominate the UK car market.
Even Maybach – the exclusive, ultra high end car manufacturer who have sold cars almost exclusively to the US market in the past – have setup dealers in the UK in recent years.
With so many different cars available, it’s a difficult choice deciding on which is most suitable for your individual circumstances.
To make the decision, it’s imperative that you take as much advice from others as you can possibly manage, research a selection of cars that may be fully suitable (ensuring that you are aware of both their capabilities and their approximate valuations) and test drive various models so you get a true feel of which is best, as only by doing this can you truly make a decision on which car is most suited to you.
