Kos is a Greek island which is located in the Dodecanese. It is situated in the south Sporades group of islands. The island can be found next to the Gulf of GÖkova/Cos. You will find the island is placed about 4 kilometers from the Bodrum coast of Turkey and the ancient region of Caria. There are three municipalities to be found on the island. These are Dikaio, Kos which is the administrative center and largest town on the island and Irakleides.

In the museum you will find many different exhibits and artifacts from both Hellenistic and Roman times. Of these various exhibits the most popular one is that of a 4th Century statue of Hippocrates. This statue is made entirely from marble and thus it is well worth your taking a look at it. While looking at the museum will reveal Kos’s past, you may be interested in looking at some modern amenities. These can be found in the town itself. Here you will find many stylish jewelry shops, gorgeous boutiques filled with interesting finds and fantastic late night music bars where you can dance the night away.
