Crowd Control Systems For Increased Profitability

Each Saturday, I run all of my family’s errands-food shopping, the warehouse club, and various other retail stores. Equipped with my shopping list, reusable bags and my credit card, I navigate through each store as efficiently as I can. With two small kids, a spouse and a dog waiting for me, I need to finish my rounds quickly.

If you have ever been shopping on a weekend morning, you can relate to how annoying the check out process can be. Or how about a retail store that has reduced shifts in order to save money? It can be an exasperating experience. How do customers feel when they come to your store?

The checkout counter can certainly be challenging. Brand Viagra Customers get crabby and impatient, especially when lines get long. One solution to consider is a crowd control or line management system.

Saving Money with a Crowd Control System

Research has shown approximately 1.6% of customers who plan to make a store purchase leave the checkout line and store prior to doing so. As an example, take a retailer with five hundred stores. If they have an average of five hundred transactions per day per store, with an average order value of $30, then each store would lose $280 per day. This amounts to a total loss of over $100,000 per store per year.

How much are you willing to let walk out the door? And what if there was something you could do about it?

Investing in a crowd control system can cut down your customer’s annoyance by decreasing wait time. Properly designed systems have been found to reduce customer wait times by up to 25% and store abandonment by as much as 90%.

The advantages don’t end there. Most customers buy on impulse. By designing a system that includes the option to merchandise popular and quick-buy products in the checkout line, your abandonment problem has turned into a positive cash flow situation.

According to Lavi Industries, 65% of all retail sales are made on impulse. Placing the impulse right in front of the customer will help ensure your crowd control investment becomes a profitable one.

Crowd Control Safety Features

It is important to remember that not all crowd control systems are the same. Many use posts and belt heads that connect to one another. The belt is engineered to retract into the head when not in use. Posts that are designed without a breaking system can actually cause injury (and potential liability issues) if the belt is removed from the post and snaps back quickly.

Make sure you purchase a crowd control system that has a breaking system built in to the post. In this way, if a belt is pulled off the post by a young child, it won’t fly back into the receiving post and cause potential injuries.

Final Words

Crowd control systems can help improve your revenues and increase customer satisfaction. If I am coming to your store on my Saturday errand run, I hope that you have already put a system in place – and I hope my warehouse club is listening!
