Are you in awe of men who can walk up to a woman or a group of women anywhere, anytime and start a conversation with them? How do men like that do it? Do you think they have undergone extensive training to come up with the right ways to approach women? Do you think that men like this are naturally born with the ability to do so?

Well the truth is that some men have undergone extensive assertiveness training that gives them the confidence to do this and that others are naturally born with the ability, but as for the rest of them, all that they’ve done is learn a few conversational tricks or techniques.

It is a lot easier than you might think. Here are some great techniques to try when approaching a woman or a group of women.

Ask a question.

This is the easiest and most effective technique. You can ask directions, the best place to find a cup of coffee, if the movie they just walked out of is worth seeing and so on. There is no limit to what kinds of questions you ask. The only thing I would suggest is don’t just make up something lame. First, think of something that fits the situation specifically. For instance, don’t ask a woman in Ohio what the best tropical beach is. Instead, ask her where the best donut place is in the city. Second, have a genuine interest in the answer. Don’t ask where you can buy new cowboy boots if you hate them. Make it an honest, genuine question that you truly have a desire to know the answer to.

Pull her aside and compliment her.

If you see a woman you would like to meet, find something about her that attracts you and approach her. You might say, can I just talk to you for a second and step back two steps. No farther than that. A woman will feel threatened or uneasy if you just come right up to her and try to pull her away.

Then tell her that you noticed her in the crowd for xx reason. For instance, you could tell her that she really caught your attention because she has a great laugh. Have something more to say after that. You could say something about why a great laugh is so appealing and that you wish more people would just let loose and enjoy life and be happy or so on.

These are just two of many techniques that you can use to approach a woman you’ve never seen before and begin engaging her in conversation. If you are honest and a nice guy about it, unless a woman is in a hurry to get somewhere, chances are good she will respond and talk to you. If you are a little uncomfortable with this idea, I recommend practicing it first. Practice on other men, elderly people, and sales clerks and so on. Practice on people where you have no investment or ego wrapped up in the outcome.
