Decreasing Shaving Acne

If you have gone through puberty then you have most likely seen acne and you have probably experienced it as well. Acne is created when your hair follicles become clogged with dirt, oil and other bacteria. It can be very annoying and it can really effect your self-esteem. Having nice skin can really make you feel good about yourself.

As you age and enter adulthood you will need to shave. Have you even noticed that there are times when you shave that you end up with all of those little bumps on your face and legs? Well, those are also breakouts of acne and they can really effect your appearance. This is especially true if you have them on your face or your legs and people are really able to see them. For some people, this is also very painful and it can be hard to deal with. No one wants to shave for a night out only to have shaving bumps that make them look bad.

If you have ever experienced this problem then you may want to follow a few simple tips in order to look your best each and every time that you shave. The first thing that you will want to do will be make sure that the area you are going to be shaving is nice and warm. You can spend some time running warm water over the area before you actually begin shaving. This is a great way to bring blood flow into the area and to decrease any razor bumps that you may have to deal with if you were shaving with cold water.

The second thing that you should do would be to make sure you are using a really good shaving cream. It is best to purchase a shaving cream that will be thin on the surface yet thick. This helps the razor you are using glide over your skin so that you will not be creating any of those unsightly bumps that you are trying to so hard to decrease. You are greatly reducing any skin irritation if you use the correct shaving cream.

You also want to spend some time trying out different razors if you are trying to decrease any acne that may occur when you shave. Try to use an electric razor when you can. If that is not an option for you then you will want to use a single bladed razor. This type of razor does not lift the hair while you are shaving, which means that you will not be irritating the skin each time you shave. You should also be sure that you are using a new one each time so you are sure that the blade is sharp and clean.

You may be use to shaving up. Consider going the opposite direction. This is called going with the grain. It decreases the amount of bumps that you will have in the end. It also decreases the likelihood of cutting or nicking yourself. All of these things result in clear, clean skin that is begging to be touched.

As you can see, there are a lot of different things that you can try when it comes to decreasing acne related to shaving. You simply need to be willing to take you time and find the best products for your skin. Everyone is different so it might take you some time to determine what works best for you. Jut be patient and keep trying. Your skin will look great in the end.
