Getting What You Want

Everybody wants to get something from life even if its nothing (proof that nothing is something – you’ll have to work at getting nothing because, just like the universe we are always expanding – and I’m not talking waistlines here). We all go about it in the way that we believe (this word comes up a lot) will realize our goal. When it doesn’t quite happen we often look for evidence why it didn’t happen 0r, depending on your beliefs (there it is again), why we aren’t equipped to achieve that.

Now, even though people who believe (once more) in the law of attraction know that we can have, do or be anything – its unlikely that I am ever going to run as fast as Usain Bolt. But most of us aren’t trying to be the best in the world, we just want to be happy and achieve some pretty basic goals. Financial security, great relationships, fulfilling career and so on.

So, how do we go about it?

First, we have to be very clear about what we want and strive to “see” it as often as possible. Close your eyes and see or sense that goal as if you have achieved it. Do it regularly – every day. And then continue your day as if it is done, achieved – in your future, a part of you. Suspend all doubt. THAT IS YOU.

Seeing it is one very important thing but we are coursing with emotional content so the next important part is to add feeling to that picture. Now, lots of people say “I don’t know how to feel like a millionaire or how to feel slender and so on”. Well, do you want to give up now at that little stumbling block? Work on it, go on! Close your eyes and imagine never having a money worry again……….feel what that is like – never to have to worry about a bill! Your biggest concern is where to take your next holiday or whether to shop at Harrods or at Macys. Until you have the feeling your mind won’t be totally convinced because it sees lots of pictures and knowing most of us, because you’re not a millionaire in a couple of weeks you’ll no doubt conclude that it doesn’t work, which will effectively put a doorway between you and your dream.

So, if you don’t know how to visualize, you’ve got to practice it. You do this by getting a lovely big clear photo from the Sunday supplements and concentrating on a small section of it, paying close attention to every detail. Then close your eyes and ‘see’ it. Don’t give up, it will come. To ‘feel’ like you have your wish – well, you’ve just got to work out how because until you do, you are far more likely to sabotage your good work.
