How to Prevent Injuries During Body Building Programs
The chances of getting injured during bodybuilding are quite high if you don’t follow norms and certain precautionary measures. Once you get injured it will take time for you to recover from the pain and you won’t be able to workout for some days. Prevention is always better than cure so follow some simple and basic tips discussed below to prevent your self from getting injured.
Wear Proper Gym Clothes
Don’t wear tight clothes to gym which won’t allow you to move freely and comfortably. Don’t wear jeans to gym otherwise you won’t be able to able to do the exercises properly and end up injuring yourself. Wear sports shoes for workouts which will prevent you from slipping during workouts.
Clear Your Doubts
If you don’t understand how to do a particular exercise or how to work out on a equipment you should ask your trainer don’t try to straighten out things on your own. You can also seek help from your gym partner or find it out from a book.
Check the Weight Plates Before Weight Lighting
Before you lift up a weight you should see whether the weight plates are tightly fixed. Many a time accidents happen when the weight plates are loose and the trainee lifts up the weight, plates fall of from the side injuring the trainee or others who are around him.
Warm Up
Before you begin with bodybuilding exercises you should do some warm up exercises. Warming up will help to make your body flexible which will minimize the risk injuring the joints and tissues during the process of bodybuilding.
Don’t Exceed Your Limits
Know you limitations and stamina level. Don’t force yourself to pick up heavier weights otherwise you will end up injuring your joints and bones. You have to workout according to your stamina for effective result.
Use Safe Lifting Speed
Perform the bodybuilding at your normal pace you don’t have increase your pace. Avoid bouncing and jerking the weights which can cause muscle and joint injury. Make it a habit to slowly lift and then lower the weight.
Beware of Your Surroundings in Your Gym
The gym where you practice weight lifting shouldn’t have wet and slippery floor. Every time when you step in for exercising make sure the floor is dry otherwise inform a staff member about the problem.
Stop Exercising when You Feel Unwell
Don’t force yourself to workout when you are feeling unwell. If your head is reeling or if you have shortness of breath you sit down and take some rest. Still if you don’t feel better you should seek medical help.
If You Workout in the Garage then do it in the Morning During Summer
During summer garages get very hot during the day. So you should workout early in the morning when temperature is moderately low. Working out in hot conditions may lead to heat stroke. During summer months drink sufficient amount of water to keep your body cool and hydrated and also take rest in between workouts.
