Training Bra & Teen Lingerie

Remember the day you got your first training bra? If you think that it’s about time for your daughter to have her first bra, then you’ve come to the right place.

It’s an exciting time for any young girl, and a sign that she is growing up. Shopping for training bras and any teen lingerie are her first steps into womanhood! Your daughter may feel shy, embarrassed or even somewhat worried.

Very few young ladies are satisfied with their bodies as they begin to develop. Many of them fear that their breasts won’t get any larger, and at the same time, they worry about what to do when they do get bigger! It’s all very normal. You can help your daughter by talking to her and reassuring her, although she’ll probably squeal, “Oh Mom!”

When you buy her a first training bra or teen panties, take the time to teach your daughter how to shop for the right bra sizes and styles. This is something that will serve her well as she matures.

And, it’s a good thing to choose a preteen bra or any teen lingerie not just by how pretty it is but how well it fits and suits her personality. Even if your daughter wants to shop alone with a friend, try to steer her in the right direction so she learns how to choose training bras that suit her body and style.

Even if her breasts are barely noticeable, most first bra styles protect the sensitive breast tissue as she grows. Age doesn’t matter; some girls are ready as early as age 8. If your daughter isn’t showing growth by the time all her friends are wearing training bras, do buy her a first bra anyway; she’ll feel awkward socially if she’s the only girl not wearing one.

There are several popular styles of teen bras, and the best type for a small bosom are the nylon stretchy type, or sports bras. Some girls prefer plain cotton bras. You can say no to a style that includes underwires or push up bras. But if your daughter asks for preteen padded bras, consider saying yes. Many girls worry whether their nipples will make a dent in their shirt fabric, and lightly padded bras both protect and hide this area.

You should also pay attention to the appearance of her first bra. As a preteen or young teenager, your daughter does not need to buy ultra-sexy brassieres. She has plenty of years ahead of her to wear them! Limit her to plain bras or those printed with a cute design. Many teen bras come with matching panties suitable for young teens, but, again, avoid the alluring seductive styles. Remember that you are the one setting the limits.

So you’ve got an exciting experience ahead of you! Talk with your daughter about how it makes her feel. Even if she’s too embarrassed to share her feelings, she will hear what you say, and your wisdom will get through to her.
