The first phase of the resort opened in 1967 in the Creekside area and the second resort phase which was opened in 1980 was located on Blackcomb Mountain. These two resorts were merged in 1988 and the full scale upgrading and development of the Whistler Resort Village began soon after the merger.

In the summer months you will find Lost Lake a great place to come and relax. You will find the water in the lake to be much warmer than the other lakes which are in the Whistler Valley area. You can relax on the lake beach or you can explore the surrounding area via the trails which abound here. These trails are perfect for exploring via cycle or walking. In the winter months this Lost Lake are is the perfect place for you to go cross-country skiing.
