Throughout centuries Britain has prided itself on its long serving monarchy. British Kings and Queens have helped to shape our great country and now can take account for many of the tourists that visit England. Our current Queen is seen as a land mark and is known throughout the world as being the face of Britain, as where many of our other great leaders.

Through time Kings and Queens have sacrificed their religion, themselves and others in order to restore Britain as a great nation. Their aim has always been to make Britain a country to be proud of and one that makes you glad to be a citizen of. Our Kings and Queens have always fought for what they believed to be the best for Britain and have helped to created some of the concepts we have today. Henry VIII created divorce, in order to separate from his arrange marriage. Queen Elizabeth I is to this day known for all her great accomplishments and is to this day the most well known of our Queens.

The Kings and Queens of England fought in many battles in order to keep England as one of the greatest countries throughout the centuries. Whether it be fighting off the Spanish Armada or defending their throne through civil wars they have remained cemented into British society. Each King and Queen that has taken the throne have made their mark on our history. Whether it be to create an Empire or change the countries religion, their aims where always to improve Britain the best way they could and hold their place in history as a great leader. Some monarchs achieved this goal while others have been placed in history due to their pride or lack of judgement.

Our Kings and Queens are not only known throughout Britain but throughout the world. Eight of Queen Victoria’s children sat on eight different thrones throughout Europe. This action embeds our monarchy not only within British history but that of eight other countries.

Through many civil wars the monarchy has been able to keep their place at Buckingham Palace. Even though they no longer run the country, they show our heritage and we are able to look back through their family history and find our own. The ruling of our current Queen has made no dramatic change to British society but her ruling has created an excitement in other nations to visit her and learn about her life.

British Kings and Queens have both improved our country and also at times destroyed it. However, through time they have helped to make Britain the great super power it is today. They have helped to make Britain a fantastic tourist hot spot, an interesting school subject and are a fascinating historical family.

It is not a question of whether you like the Royal family but any person must realise their powerful actions have made England what it is today. Our British Kings have Queens have changed England forever but have always kept it a great nation.
