Used Toyota – The Story of Toyota

The Toyota car manufacturer was founded in 1937 by Kirchiro Toyoda. As you can imagine the name came from the founder’s last name just with the letter “d” replace with the letter “t”. The car manufacturer is Japanese which operates using a unique management structure and style compared to European and American management techniques. Toyota invests heavily in their employees which is partly because of their traditional views and values. This also enables it to be fairly difficult for employees (particularly if you are based in Japan) to leave the organisation which makes employee turnover low.

Toyota not only invests heavily into their employees but also its robust design. Toyota prices their vehicles at reasonable prices but don’t necessarily have the style and charisma of some European car manufacturers such as Volkswagen or Mercedes. If you compared the price for a similar type of vehicle you would understand why. Toyota cannot invest as much into design mainly because their costs are lower than VW for example. In other words Toyota is a middle of the range car manufacturer but this doesn’t necessarily mean that anything is wrong.

There are several different types of vehicles that Toyota design and ultimately produce. In recent years Toyota has invested heavily into smaller hatchbacks with the introduction of 2 or 3 new model lines. The Toyota Yaris was the first small hatchback to be released in the late 1990s. The Yaris has been around for a long time which now means there are lots of used Toyota Yaris vehicles on the second hand car market. Toyota has also launched the iQ, Aygo and Auris which basically offer the same features but each model is larger. The iQ is a small 2 seater supermini which is fantastic for travelling around the city. This is because it is so easy to park due to its size. There is a number of used Toyota iQ on the market because it was launched a few years ago. A slightly larger vehicle is the Aygo which is a 4 seater. The boot is still small in the Aygo but you can fit a few bags of shopping in it. There is no glove locker in iQ or Aygo which is annoying at times perhaps when you need to lock or hide something away which is usually a sat nav or documentation of some sort. The Aygo was launched in 2005 which means there has been an influx of used Toyota Aygo vehicles because they are over 3 years old which is usually when servicing and other offers finish. The Auris is the latest in the line of the smaller sized hatchbacks. This competes with the likes of the Volkswagen Polo, Peugeot 106 and Renault Clio.

In the last few months Toyota has launched a marketing campaign to try and increase the number of people purchasing new Toyota vehicles. This has been supported with some incentives including 3 years servicing or 5 year warranty. These are great deals when you purchase a new vehicle but used Toyota prices are reasonable too.
