Shooting For Fun

Do you enjoy shooting? Do you like tactile sports? Are you competitive? Do you like to see how good of a shot you are? Do you like to aim at moving targets? Do you like getting off the couch and doing something different once in awhile? Are you social? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you might try one or all of the following shooting sports:

Paintball – In this sport, you are generally on a team trying to take out the other team or capture their flag and bring it back to your base. You have a compressed air gun that shoots pellets of paint, which, upon hitting the opponent, splatter. The game is a fast-paced, adrenaline rush.

Airsoft – This game is similar to Paintball in that you are hunting your opponents with a gun. However, it is more of a strategic game. Instead of shooting pellets of paint, the ammunition is BB sized pellets which don’t leave marks. It’s still an adrenaline rush and can be just as much fun as paintball.

Shooting Skeet – In this sport, you use an actual shotgun to shoot at a moving target. The clay skeet is thrown into the air at varying speeds and directions, and you attempt to shoot as many as you can within a certain amount of time.

Shooting a Still Target – This is often called target practice. You can use any type of real gun that you prefer: shotgun, rifle, and handgun. The goal is to take your time, aim your gun at a fixed bull’s-eye target and try to get the best shot possible.

Cowboy Style Shooting – Another fun sport to try is the cowboy style shooting. Again, this is done with a real gun. Often the participants even dress in the full cowboy garb and use old-fashioned revolvers. They shoot at targets which pop up, as if they were out in the real Wild-West.

Military Simulation Shooting – Just as the cowboy style shooting is designed to allow the participants to shoot at a moving target, or at a target that pops up, the military simulation allows you to shoot at various opponents who pop out of the bushes. Often with this simulation, you have to quickly determine

Laser Tag – Like Paintball and Airsoft, this sport does not use real guns. Instead, the guns have lasers on them. When the opponent is hit with the laser, he is out. These are often played in large warehouses specially designed for laser-tag games.

Whether you prefer the feel of a real gun in your hands, shooting at moving targets, or just prefer to see how good your aim is, there are a variety of shooting sports you might really like to try. If you prefer shooting at moving targets, try shooting skeet, playing Paintball, or Airsoft, or even a game of Laser Tag. If you prefer the feel of real guns, try target practice, shooting skeet, or the cowboy style or military simulation. No matter what game you choose, be safe, and have fun!
