Paintball Fields

The exciting game of paintball is enjoyed by millions of Americans. In this game, one opponent, or team of opponents, chases his enemy with a compressed air gun, attempting to shoot the opponent with a pellet filled with paint.

The game can be played on a variety of fields, from outdoor to indoor fields. Each type of field changes the game, but all fields are fun.

The two main kinds of fields are indoor and outdoor. The outdoor fields tend to be larger, and can be wooded fields, speedball fields, and special prop fields. Indoor fields are much smaller, but the games are often much more fast-paced.

Perhaps the most popular fields are the wooded field. These are ones played outside, in the woods. Many paintball players find the wooded fields to be one of the most exciting places to play because of the mystery and the real-life feel. The trees provide protection for the players and also make it more difficult for the players to find their opponents so this makes the excitement heightened. Additionally, the trees and bushes and real-world forest make this field the most realistic. The open spaces allow more time to play the game, so often it’s a bit slower paced with more focus on teamwork.

Playing in a wooded field makes you change your playing style, too. You must adapt to your surroundings. Often the play is a bit slower because you can’t just shoot without having a good shot, as the pellet might hit a tree or other obstacle, and your position will be given away to the opponent.

Another outdoor field is the Special Prop field. Special Props fields are outdoor fields with special props placed in them, hence the name. These props can be anything from old, abandoned cars to towers to fake buildings or even castles. The props on the field allow the players places to hide behind them and provide safe zones to which they can dart and escape a paintball attack. This is usually an exciting field upon which to play.
Another outdoor field is the speedball field.

Speedball fields are much different than the wooded fields. These are typically open fields with no obstacles except a series of man-made bunkers. The size of the field varies, ranging from very large to very small. The style of play depends on the size of field and the number of the bunkers. Typically, this is a fast-paced game, hence the name.

Indoor fields are usually much smaller than outdoor fields, because of course, the fields can have many more open spaces on which to play. Typically the indoor fields are designed for speedball games with bunkers. These games are much faster-paced than the outdoor games.

With the variety of fields offered in paintball, you can find a style and type that suits your playing style. Whether it be the fast-paced indoor arena or the exciting, realistic play of the wooded field, you will enjoy the game of paintball.
