To Praise God – Why it Can be the Key to Contentment in Your Life
There really isn’t a bad time or situation to praise God. You may not always feel like it, but the blessings will be well worth it.
All of us have lived through rough times, and some of us blame God for this and don’t want to praise God. The rough times are a time when we should be praising God. Why? That’s the time when we need Him most and He is our Rock if we allow Him to help.
There have been so many times where I could have just given up hope and felt that what was going on in my life was just too much to handle and there was no easy way out. Thinking that way will make things worse because you won’t allow yourself to accept the comfort and support of God.
In the past, I thought I was going to fall apart because of stress with many things that were occuring. Right when I decided that I was going to stop worrying and let God take the burden, things started to get much better. The stress lessened and my faith that He had it handled increased.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Believing that God was in control and letting go, allowed myself a happier, more peaceful state of mind. I actually wanted to praise God while going through the difficult circumstances I was in. The more I prayed to Him and trusted that He was taking care of things, the more I started to praise God.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
In the past, when my life used to be more calm, and I really hadn’t had many extremely difficult times in my life, I didn’t really pray too often. I felt like I could handle whatever came my way.
When there came a time where I felt that I really needed God, He used that time to bring us closer and made me a much stronger Christian. During these times, God blessed my life with miracles. People that were around me were astounded with the manner in which things turned out. I acknowledged to them that God had His hand in the outcome and it will be a blessing to see how it may very well affect them in a positive way.
According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness. Psalms 48:10
Living the Christian life is a continuous journey of faith. Our faith is in the truth which is God and not just a feeling. He promises us that more of His joy and peace will flourish as we go along. These same feelings that I felt during the rough times, I’ve never forgotten and I have become a person that really loves to praise God.
