Surface Mount & Recessed Mount Letter Boxes are the perfect mailbox solution for smaller apartment complexes, small office buildings, condominiums, and any low density multiple tenant building. For medium size apartments or office buildings, a group of these letter boxes can be arranged side-by-side in the common areas. The most common configurations purchased are units of three to seven compartments. Usually they are located in common areas that are easily accessible by all of the tenants.

Our Surface Mount & Recessed Mount Letter Boxes are constructed of one hundred percent heavy gauge aluminum. To protect against corrosion and oxidation the aluminum is covered with a thermoplastic powder coating. This powder coating forms a very tight adhesion to the aluminum and prevents it from coming into contact with air, water, and moisture. The powder coating is durable and will not crack or peel. In the event it is cut or damaged it can be easily repaired with the application of heat from an industrial heat gun. The thermoplastic coating will melt slightly, rebond itself, and cover the exposed metal. The powder coating is available in five attractive colors which are brass, sandstone, green, bronze, and aluminum.

The mounting of these mailboxes is fairly straightforward. The Surface Mount Letter boxes can be mounted on any wall or on a flat surface. If it is surface mounted on a wall then they would be attached with holes drilled in the back panel. The Recessed Mount Letter Boxes are mounted in any wall opening of appropriate size. Recessed units include a fully integrated and decorative flanged collar which fits over the rough opening in the wall. Mounting hardware is not included with the purchase.

A number of options are available with the Surface Mount & Recessed Mount Letter Boxes. A parcel box can be included as an option. It will be attached to the left end of the row of incoming mailboxes. It will be a larger compartment and will be able to receive parcels that are too large to fit in the standard mailbox compartments. An outgoing mail slot or compartment is also available as an option. It is usually located on the left side of the row of compartments. The mail slot measures 4 3/8 inches in width and 1/2 inch in height and will easily handle a standard size letter. Custom engraving is another option. It is available for the outgoing or incoming mailboxes and may be regular or black filled. Custom engraved placards are another option. They measure 2 1/2 inches in width and 5/8 inch in height and are self-adhesive. Typically buyers ordered custom engraved placards with apartment unit or office numbers.

All Surface Mount & Recessed Mount Letter Boxes offer a master commercial lock with two keys when the compartments are for private access. All incoming mailbox doors include a five pin cylinder cam lock with two keys. The five pin cylinder cam lock offers as many as one thousand different key changes. In addition, the mailboxes offer a master door security retrofit kit as well as extra keys per lock and key blanks.
