Ladies Clothes and the Different Washing Methods For Them

When people buy clothes, it’s rare that they look at the tiny piece of fabric sewn inside the seam of a shirt, a dress or a pair of pants. This little piece of fabric, though, is important, since it tells you specific instructions on how to wash and care for that piece of clothing.

If you want your expensive clothes to last through many seasons, take note of the different care and washing symbols indicated on your clothes’ tag. Listed below are just some of the important washing methods you can use to take good care of your clothing.

1. Take out all loose buttons or coins from pockets before washing clothes. You should also zip up pants and secure Velcro straps or buttons on all your clothing before throwing them into your washer. You should do this so that zippers or buttons don’t get snagged in other clothing or in the washing machine’s tub.

2. Make sure to read the care instructions in each of your clothing. Familiarise yourself with the different washing symbols. A triangle with a cross, for instance, means that the piece of clothing should not be bleached; whilst a line inside a square means that the shirt needs to be dried flat.

3. Keep nylons and delicates in a laundry bag. There are many mesh laundry bags or fabric bags available in shops near your area. Don’t throw your delicates or nylons in the washer along with the rest of your clothes. They require gentler handling and should be kept inside a laundry bag so that they don’t get snagged or deformed.

4. Wash linens and viscose gently. These types of fabric can easily get deformed, so it’s best that you hand-wash any clothing made out of linen or viscose. You can restore any linen or viscose garment to its original shape by ironing it with a hot steam iron.

5. Refrain from washing wool garments often. Clothing made out of wool can air out nicely and most of the time, this will suffice. If you need to wash woolen garments, though, you can do so by using a mild detergent and setting your washing machine to the gentlest cycle possible.

6. Prevent denims from fading by turning them inside out before throwing them into the washing machine. Once your washing machine has stopped, remove denims immediately to avoid creasing.

7. Never try to wash leather or suede. Instead, take leather or suede items to a professional or a dry cleaner.

8. Retain the shape of your clothing (and help save the environment) by hanging your garments out to dry. You consume less energy this way and your clothes don’t shrink nor get deformed because of clothes dryers.

Don’t let your elegant wardrobe go to waste, especially since you’ve probably spent a lot on some designer pieces. Using the tips above, make sure that your clothing throughout the season and even until next year.
