Facial Hair Removal For Women

Bouncy gorgeous hair is beautiful on a woman’s head but when it is on her face it is not so good. Unfortunately, millions of women have excess facial hair. This may be on the chin, neck, ears, forehead, cheeks, even around the nasal area. No part of the face is exempt from the possibility of undesired hair. But there is no reason to be humiliated. There are a number of methods for facial hair removal for women.

Electrolysis: Currently there is only one method that is considered to be a permanent method to take off hair and that is hair electrolysis. With electrolysis an electric current travels through the hair to the root. The electricity destroys the hair follicle. Unfortunately it is a very slow process as one hair must be removed at a time. In addition, it can be painful. In a worse case scenario improper hair electrolysis can result in scarring to the skin tissue. Unless you have just a few hairs, electrolysis is unlikely to be a good choice.

Shaving: Shaving is not a good option for facial hair removal for women. Shaving simple cuts back the hair on the face. This can result in irritation. In addition hair removed by shaving will grow back quickly. Unless you want a stubble that you have to deal with on a daily basis avoid shaving.

Facial Hair Removal Cream: Cream is a choice of many women. It is cheap, easy to obtain, painless and for the most part provides good albeit short term results. There is the possibility of discoloration and an allergic reaction so patch testing any facial hair removal cream on a small area is a good idea.

Waxing: Waxing is also another common choice for facial hair removal for women. It is quick and lasts for several weeks. The drawbacks are skin sensitivity. It also tugs on the skin which overtime may weaken the area and lead to premature wrinkling of the dermis. In some cases, especially in individuals with sensitive skin, it may also result in burns and infection.

Lasers: Lasers are becoming a very popular choice. The effects last a long time and they are becoming much more affordable. The best candidates for laser hair removal are those with pale skin and dark hair. Lasers target the pigment in the hair so light hair is difficult for a laser to work on. Generally a number of sessions are needed to remove a section of hair. Though results are not permanent, they can be long lasting. The length of time needed to remove the hairs will depend on the area to be treated and skin tone and texture.

There are a number of other methods to get rid of unwanted female facial hair including threading, sugaring, lasers, tweezing and more. There are also a variety of creams and lotions to help inhibit regrowth.

Facial hair removal for women can be very easy and manageable once you have selected the method right for your excess facial hair.
