So You Want a Cheap IPad?

If you had to tell me you were looking for a cheap iPad, I would find it very difficult to answer you, as I believe the words “cheap iPad” are extremely subjective. Okay here is my logic, the original price that the iPad was sold by Apple, was in the opinion of many, a decent price and one could even say cheap, so what is cheap?

Is it really cheap to purchase an iPad below the price sold by Apple, or one of the reputable resellers out there, if this cheaper Apple had no warranties or backup support? How does one value such added extras? I personally feel that a product that is cheaper than a fully guaranteed product , has an extremely high opportunity cost, and therefore cannot be classified as a cheap iPad.

So when comparing your iPad, one must compare apples with apples ( excuse the pun), therefore an iPad that comes with $100 worth of vouchers from iTunes and is only $50 more than a similar iPad without the vouchers would in fact be cheaper to someone who would definitely be buying $100 worth of iTune.

I guess some of you think that I might be just arguing semantics but the point I’m trying to make is price is not the only consideration to take into account when making the decision to purchase an iPad. So if the only thing that you are looking for is an iPad that is cheaper than anything else on the market, I am sure someone from China will sell you one on eBay but if you look closely you would see that you did not buy an iPad you bought an Ipaid.

Also, a very important consideration when purchasing your iPad is to make sure you are getting exactly what you need for now and the future. You might realise a few months down the line that having 3G capability would have been a great asset. Let me tell you, to purchase a second iPad just for 3G, is a lot more expensive than having bought the top of the range 3G iPad in the beginning. The same applies for your space requirements. 32 Gig might sound like a lot now but, let me tell you, there’s a lot of great stuff on the iTunes Store that could make you wish you had bought the 64 gig.

So again cheap is subjective, but I feel that I might be preaching to the converted. The very fact that you are reading this article means that you are doing research and not just taking the first thing that comes to you. My advice, if you’re looking for a cheap iPad make sure that you take all things into consideration not just price, and yes, I am being biased but take a look at the link below as I feel it is a very good starting point, maybe not to find the cheapest iPad, But maybe to find the best deal.
