Locker Room Shower Columns are available in several different models. The freestanding model is constructed of a stainless steel column and anchored to the floor by its own cast iron drain. The cast iron drain is set in wet concrete in the floor. The freestanding models are unique in that they make use of the center of the shower area. Other shower models are attached to walls but the freestanding models utilize the available space in the center areas. Freestanding columns allow the building owner to maximize the number of shower stations in a given shower space. The drains can be and are usually vented through the column fixture and into vent pipes in the ceiling. Water supplies can be routed through the floor or ceiling. The overhead pipes can be concealed with shrouds.

Another model of Locker Room Shower Columns is designed for pools and beaches. It has the same basic design as the freestanding model except that one of the showerheads is replaced by a foot spray. This feature is particularly useful at beaches where users can wash sand off their feet and avoid tracking sand into interior spaces.

Locker Room Shower Columns are built from corrosion resistant materials. All exposed parts are either type 304 stainless steel or polished chrome plated brass. The column is constructed of sixteen gauge type 304 stainless steel. The column cap is the same type and gauge of stainless steel. The valve manifold is constructed from cast brass and the drain fitting is cast iron. All supply inlets are copper tubing. The showerheads are designed to flow at a standard rate of two gallons per minute. There may be some variation in the flow rate but it will not exceed two and one half gallons per minute. The base flange is thirteen gauge stainless steel. There is an access panel located near the bottom of the column and each station on the column is equipped with a stainless steel soap tray.
