Bible Verses About Anxiety: Get Rid of Your Anxiety Problems Once and For All

Life is tough and there’s nothing anybody can do about it. But thing is, the average yuppie is much more stressed these days than the average tribal warrior thousands of years ago. At a glance it doesn’t make any sense how modern society could be a more stressful environment, but that is the hard and sad truth. Increasing societal demands and worsening economic times are finally showing a negative impact in the lives of the average individual.

But what does the Bible verses say about anxiety? It is during hard times that many people turn to the Bible for guidance, and indeed the Bible does have something to say on the subject. God offers us His wisdom and guidance to help us ward off anxiety. Apparently anxiety has plagued Man for thousands of years, and it is still a common enough problem now.

When you feel like everything in your life is a burden and that you can’t bear to carry anymore, look to the Bible verses and discover a reason for your hardships. Here are a few sample Bible verses about anxiety taken from the Bible:

“I’m leaving you with a gift: peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give isn’t fragile like the peace the world gives. So, don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27)

“Let not your heart be troubled. You are entrusting God, now trust in Me.” (John 14: 1)

“I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.” (Psalm 16:8)

“You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.” (Psalm 32:7-8)

“Fear of others will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.” (Proverbs 29:25)

God calls for us to reach out to Him, to trust Him. Everyone’s got problems. Who doesn’t have a problem in his or her life? So everybody’s bound to experience extreme bouts of anxiety one time or another. But the important thing is to put our trust in God. Giving in to your anxiety would “prove to be a snare”, yet those who “trusts in the Lord” and sing “songs of deliverance” will be kept safe.

One way to reduce anxiety in your life is to pray about your life’s worries to the Lord. Prayer is a powerful practice of releasing our worries and troubles to the One we trust the most. At the very least, prayer is healing. When we pray we accept our faults and shortcomings. We ask for forgiveness, and seek guidance for any obstacle that might come our way. It is this practice of meditation that allows us to release our pent up anxiety without us knowing it.

So if you want to get rid of your anxiety once and for all, I only have one advice for everyone: that is to pray. Rest your worries in the Lord.
