Born in the Chinese Year of the Horse? What it Says About Your Personality

There are twelve animals that appear in the Chinese Zodiac, and the Horse is the seventh animal. Like all the other signs, the Horse year appears every twelve years. For example, 1990 was the year of the Horse and therefore so were 1966, 1978 and 2002. The next year of the Horse will be 2014. However, the Chinese calendar does not coincide exactly with the Gregorian calendar, as a result of which you may not know exactly when the year of the Horse begins.

The Chinese believe that the year of one’s birth determines one’s nature and also one’s life to a large extent. People born in the year of the Horse are believed to be extroverted and quick witted. They are believed to have a sharp sense of humor in addition to an abundance of energy, particularly to spend in the company of friends. People born in the year of the Horse are gifted with the ability to make friends easily and to retain them as well.

Horse people are known for their intelligence and their ability to put it to good use in real life. They are quick learners and are therefore very likely to be successful in their professional life. Their extroverted nature combined with a lot of practicality also makes Horse people very successful in interpersonal relations. The other aspects of their personality that appeal to a lot of people is that they are trustworthy and reliable friends to have.

It goes without saying that there is more to their nature than these positive attributes. People born in the Chinese year of the Horse are also believed to be very stubborn and arrogant. When taken to an extreme, these people can also be called self centered and selfish. Their redeeming feature, however, is that they always try to make amends for their bad behavior.

There is also a 5 year cycle that the year of the Horse passes through, over and above the 12 year cycle. This cycle is based on the 5 Chinese elements, which are Metal, Water, Wood, Fire and Earth. The year you are born in will therefore also determine which of these elements of Horse you will be.

Horse people tend to be healthy and athletic and this is connected with their exuberance and positive nature. They are very gregarious and enjoy doing team sports. Horses can complete any task that they set their mind to, but they have an aversion to routine tasks. They should be very particular to avoid any job that is repetitive and boring. Horse people excel at tasks where they have a high degree of autonomy and where they get to meet a lot of people. They make very good performers. In the corporate world, Horse people are very effective in sales and marketing jobs. Their quick wits and ability to learn new things makes them very good in languages.

Horse people get along best with people just like them, but they are also compatible with people born in the years of the Tiger and Dog.
