One country that definitely suffers from this uniform treatment is Jordan.

Even though Jordan is part of the Arabian region, it is a haven of stability thanks to having effective political leadership under its ruling family. This, in addition to the fact that it has many places of historical and scenic interest to see, makes it a great tourist destination in the region. As a matter of fact, around 10 percent of the country’s Gross National Product comes as a result of tourism. No doubt, this number would be higher still if the region was not racked with conflict.

The most famous tourist destination in Jordan is Petra, an entire city carved into pink rocks that makes a spectacle that has to be seen at least one in a lifetime. What many people do not know is that Jordan has many ruins and relics left from Roman and Byzantine times. It is also a very important place for Christian pilgrimages since there are many churches and monasteries scattered around the desert that pay testament to the region’s Christian heritage. Even today, Jordan has a Christian population that comprises around 6 percent of its total population, and this helps to give the country sufficient diversity.
