Fabulous Fall Wedding Ideas

Fall is fast approaching, and it is one of the most popular times of the year to have a wedding. Gorgeous natural foliage and cooler temperatures make it perfect for a fall wedding. As people start thinking about coming home more, and spending more time with their families, it’s a perfect time for your romantic wedding. Here are a few ideas for your fall wedding to help you get started.

Wedding Venue- Think of a storybook fall wedding at a romantic inn, 18th century church, barns, park, ranches, old historic mansion, and even old mills. You can have your wedding be very casual or even very elegant at any of those locations. You might also want to think about having your wedding at a vineyard, orchard, or anywhere else that will highlight fall’s beautiful colors. If you happen to live in a place that does not have temperature change, it would be a good idea to find a place that has rich and dark wood colors to give you that “fall” feeling. If an outdoor wedding is not an option for you, find a venue that has a clear view of the fall foliage or countryside.

Fall Wedding Decorations- Popular colors for the fall seasons are: red, orange, brown, rust, yellow, gold, copper, and bronze. You should use simple decor to enhance the season’s natural bounty. You can use fall harvest for your decorations: pumpkins, squash, decorative leaves, corn, wheat, acorns, bales of hay, or jugs of cider…you got the idea. You can make cute jack-O-lanterns with decorative patterns. I really recommend that you use as much nature as possible. After all, it saves you money and looks great!!

Fall Flowers- Some of the most popular wedding flowers for fall is: mums, roses, daisy, yarrow, fall leaves, berries, dried wheat, sunflowers, and roses. A really cute accent to add to your flowers is cranberries, and pears. This will really make your flower arrangements pop!. You can also collect a bunch of fall leaves and decorate them to add to your flower arrangements or table decorations.

Food- Traditional fall favorites include: turkey, red potatoes, dressing, corn bread, corn, green beans, honey glazed carrots, squash, and mashed potatoes. You can even re-create a Thanksgiving meal with family recipes. That makes for a great fall meal. Don’t forget dessert. You can make an assortment of homemade pies such as apple, pumpkin, cherry, or blueberry. You can top everything off with hot homemade apple cider or hot chocolate.

Getaway- You can really have some fun with creative getaways. You and your groom can ride off on a hayride. This is very fun and a cheap idea. You can also ride off into the sunset on a horse. If you really want to go “country”, you can ride off in the bed of someone’s truck! These all make for a great photo opportunity.

Fall is the ideal time for a wedding. With cooler weather, festive harvest atmosphere, and warn colors adds up for the perfect way to begin your lives as a married couple. Hope some of these ideas help you for your special day!
