3. It includes sufficient information that it helps the reader to make intelligent decisions once they encounter the same difficulty.
Types of Case Study
There are many types of case studies. In school, you will likely encounter them with essay assignments requiring you to analyze a historical case – taking account of the causes, consequences and lessons learned from them. Marketing departments use case studies to illustrate to prospects how a particular product or service can solve their problems.
In some organizations, you may be asked to look into a situation (for instance, a successful project) and analyze how there were able to achieve those results, with the goal of attempting to replicate the same success in future endeavors. In many businesses, case studies can take the form of a problem-oriented study, where you use cost-benefit risk analysis to determine opportunities for a company in a specific market.
