The first step is to buy the lamp. Many third party electric stores carry replacement lamps for a number of makes and models of projection TVs. You must know the exact model number and series of your TV. Once you have the lamp, the actual process of replacing it can begin.

The first step for installing replacement lamps is to make sure that the power cord is unplugged from the outlet. Let the TV cool down for about five minutes. This will ensure that the lamps and the lamp assembly will not burn your hand or explode when touched. Turn the TV around to locate the lamp door. Unscrew the door open.
