Homes are expensive purchases. Several factors make them a wise investment including the fact that real estate usually always increases in value as it becomes more scarce and higher in demand, and also because a home provides such a necessary structure in life for shelter, protection, security, and comfort. Even so, if a homebuyer sells there home and then buys a slightly bigger home most likely they will be adding astronomical costs to there home.

When a home closes, there are a ton of costs associated with the closing. The truth is that building onto an existing home through remodeling is a very effective way to make a home more comfortable and at the same time increase in value. The best idea is to add extra space onto the first or second floor. On the downside, the addition to the home is not full proof. If the addition is not done right, or properly by the contractors, there is a great chance that the homes value could be hurt. Make sure the contractor is not in a huge hurry and will be able to take his time. Most often poor supervision and trying to hurry will result in mistakes.

Secondly, remodeling could take longer than originally anticipate and can very monotonous and intrusive. Waking up having contractors drilling, sawing, pounding, nailing, etc early in the morning can be highly annoying.

So even thought the possibility of failure is real, and the length of the construction could be a while, it is almost always worth it.
