Train Boxer Puppy Without Frustration

There are lots of adjectives like intelligent, loyal, strong, dignified, energetic, self-assured and courageous which we can use to describe boxer dogs. They have high level of curiosity and sharp listening capacity. These qualities make them excellent guard dogs. They are courageous and fearless with aggressive look on their face. However, they are kind with children and other pets. They love human companionship and don’t like to stay alone for a longer period. Insufficient attention and hours of loneliness can lead to some abnormal or bad behaviors in them.

As the boxers are very quick and clever to learn, you should involve them in obedience training as soon as possible. The master should be dominant and capable of controlling them. This doesn’t mean that you should use any kind of harsh treatment while training. They don’t respond well to such kind of negative behaviors from their masters. If you train them positively with reward based method, they will show keen interest in learning and thus your training gets best results.

Until you don’t train your boxer puppy, he will not be able to differentiate between right and wrong things. Even your brand new shoes will seem as a chewing toy for him. If you punish him for these kinds of things without training him, then it would be your foolishness. He will just get confused and may even don’t know the reason for being punished. For instance, if you allow him to play and jump on you when you are staying home, you cannot expect that he will not repeat the same thing when you are going to your office. He will just jump on you again because he doesn’t know that you need to go to office in clean and tidy uniform.

The problem with most of the dog owners is that they give up when they don’t see any kind of progress in their dog. Boxer puppy training is not a difficult task but it needs time, patience and devotion. If you don’t give much effort and time, then he will not be able to learn as much as you had expected of because consistency is the key in the process of dog training.

Since boxer dogs can get stubborn from time to time, training them can be a bit challenging. If you are new to dog training, then it can be more frustrating. But believe me; it will not be as hard as you think once you get to know your boxer puppy nature and deal with him.

Apart from this, socializing your boxer puppy is also important. You should take him for short car rides, to the public places and parks to make them familiar with other pets and human beings. You should also make him used to with bathing, brushing and other similar activities. With socialization, your dog becomes more disciplined, well behaved and very friendly and with this, you don’t need to worry while taking him anywhere with yourself.
