Great Things About Babies

Babies are as pure as angels. Their innocent smiles bring true joy to our hearts. It is great to see a baby waving and blinking at you. They are indeed wonderful creatures given by God to blessed parents. Therefore, babies should be treasured and cherished well. It is amazing to see how baby grows. Babies’ growth and development are very fast though each of them does varies. A change in his body happens every day in a small period of time. At birth, a baby doesn’t know if it is daytime or nighttime. He’s been staying inside his mother’s womb for almost 9 months with no day and night that explains why the baby sleeps most of the time during his first few weeks outside his mother’s womb. The baby adjusts on the new environment. They even fall asleep so easily if you sing lullaby or play mellow music. Baby’s hearing is very sensitive. They might not see you clearly at first but their sense of touch and hearing are already functioning well.

There are so many inborn reflexes present to babies after birth. Monitor these reflexes with an expert’s assistance because some of these reflexes do disappear as the baby grows older. So it is very important to monitor these reflexes appropriately as they are being replaced by voluntary movements in a specific period of time. One of the best examples is the rooting reflex. It is used by the baby to be able to identify if the breast is touching his face and ready to be fed. He will open his mouth towards the sensation that he felt. Breastfeeding is important for babies. Breast milk has complete nutrients and antibodies that the baby needs for his growth and development as well as fighting diseases or infections. Feeding the baby with breast milk is the best option for the first 6 months of his life. Through breastfeeding, the mother’s bond to the baby becomes stronger. The two of them becomes more familiar with each other because of their closeness leading to a good mother and child relationship.

As mentioned earlier, the developments of babies are fast. They gain weight rapidly as soon as they are being fed. Their weight becomes doubled in their first six months of life and turned tripled after twelve months. The baby will crawl, seat, walk and speak on the right and proper time. The baby’s growth is a rapid process accompanied by a step by step development. As parents, you should be able to know the progress of your child’s development so that you will be able to take care of him according to his needs and wants. If the baby started to crawl and climb up to stairs, ensure safety. Do not leave the baby alone anymore to avoid harm. If he already starts to walk, provide walkers and comfortable shoes to your baby. Assist him while he is going through the different stages of growth and development. Therefore, the baby should be kept monitored to be able to address their needs appropriately.
