What to Wear During Job Interviews

When you are looking for a job, it is very important that you wear proper attire that will create a good impression for you. This is normal because you like to impress your future employer and you want to extend a message that you are perfect for the job. Besides your CV, the next thing that will help you land on the position is the way you carry yourself with the help of the total package you project during the interview. Here are some tips to help you prepare for the image that will help you land the job that you like:

For Men:

1. Wear long sleeves with proper neck tie – if you are used to wearing polo shirts or t-shirts you must change it when you are attending job interview. You should look formal and presentable so wearing long sleeves with nice colored neck tie will make you look like you are serious on the job.

Jeans are not acceptable, wear slacks – jeans are big no-no during job interviews instead you should wear slacks with your long sleeves and tie attire.

2. Black leather shoes – cleaning your leather shoes will definitely add factor on your image. You should also wear black socks to look clean and orderly.

3. Bring briefcase – briefcases for men will make the applicant more sophisticated and elegant-looking that could receive good feedbacks or remarks from people around or probably from your future employer. You should pick the right style of briefcase to bring- if you bring rolling briefcases for travelling then you must change it with a nice leather brown briefcase for your job interview.

For women:

1. Wear formal top – white long sleeves with black blazer will always work. This will make you look formal and serious on the job.

2. Wear skirt or slacks – the skirt that you should wear is at least knee-level because you do not want to look too sexy in front of your future employer. Slacks are also safe to wear because this will complete the formal look you want to project.

3. High heels but not too high – it is acceptable to wear heels up to 2 or 3 inches but beyond that will make you look like you are attending a party. So keep it on an acceptable level.

4. Wear light make-up – putting lipstick will give you a livelier look but don’t overdo a bloody red lipstick. Light make-up will do to enhance your features.

5. Bring briefcase – there are briefcases for women that you can choose from. This is important to hold your CV and other important documents that you would need for the interview.

These are the things that you want to remember when you are attending a job interview. You should always keep in mind that you are making first impression with your future employer and co-worker so make it a good one. You do not have to spend so much on the outfit just make sure that you look presentable. Following these tips might just help you land on the perfect job that you like so take everything into consideration.
