Creating Momentum in Network Marketing

Creating momentum has been a term you have probably heard not only in network marketing but in sports, on TV, shoot even in politics. But what is momentum and how does it feel? Do you feel joyous, excited, or overwhelmed?

Can you create your own momentum, or does it just happen? How do you know when it begins?

I remember going to one of my first events in network marketing. I had just joined this company and I was extremely excited. I had dreams of not working anymore, living in my dream home on a lake or the ocean, and taking all of these exotic trips whenever I chose.

But I still remember that feeling of going to my first big event. For one of my first tasks, I was suppose to bring a guest. I failed, I did not bring a guest and I had a pit in my stomach the whole event. Who was I kidding? How was I ever going to make millions if I could not ever get one guest at my first event?

The speaker was really dynamic! He was funny, engaged with the audience, and of course very motivating. Which even made me feel worse. But then towards the end of the day he invited his guests to stand up. Now this speaker was a multi-millionaire and had been in network marketing forever. I envisioned about 100 people standing up. But… only one person stood.

How could this be?? This guy was huge! He was suppose to have a ton of people at this event. But then he had his guest sit and he asked one of his downlines and he guests to stand. Now three people stood. Then he asked another person to stand with their guests. Two people stood.

He went around the room asking people to stand with their guests. Some had one, some had two, and even one had six. But like me there were many that had none.

Even though I still had a pit in my stomach however I started understanding network marketing and momentum. See it wasn’t about me bringing 100 guests. This is about me bringing one and then showing them how to bring one.

Momentum starts when you show someone else how to bring one. And then show that person how to bring one and so on and so forth.

The beauty of network marketing is that you do not have to do this all by yourself. You create momentum by showing other people how build momentum, one person at a time.

Now of course, some people start out of the chute and bring bunches. But that is not necessary.

See when I started my adventure, I knew I would be in this for the long haul. I resonated with my company. I enjoyed what I was doing and there was a huge need in the market place for what I am doing.

Now I just have to build a business. Showing each person how to build their business.

If you are in the right spot. You can build a huge business within one to five years. Just hang in there and create momentum for you and other people!
