Cleaning Your Expensive Stainless Steel Cookware

The way that stainless steel cookware are made supposedly make them quite easy to clean. Unfortunately, when food gets burned during food preparation, some of these burnt spots stay on the pans and will be quite difficult to clean using ordinarily means. The material is an alloy made up of iron, nickel and chromium, mostly, and they are widely used all over the world because of its many known advantages. It is a tough material and can withstand high temperatures, making them quite a great material for cooking. It does not cause metal poisoning when the metal is burnt, and does not carry toxic elements into the food. Apart from these, already very good reasons, stainless is a preferred material for cookware because it almost always looks brand new. 1. Burned food on the inner surface: This is a common thing that you have to deal with when dealing with cookware; and if this happens, you will have to fill it with water, heat it reaches boiling point. After this, you can use a spatula to scrape the burnt material from the bottom of the inner surface. You can also use a nylon scrubbing pad to gently clean that surface if the stain is a mild one, or you can deal with tougher greasy stains by repeating the boiling procedure until the stain can be easily scraped from the bottom.

2. Brown residues on the surface of the pan: When cooking oil is left to stick at the bottom og the pan, it appears as some kind of brown solid residues. When this happens, you will just have to pour a small amount of water into the pan, heat it until it boils and wait for the residue to dissolve. You can also try to sprinkle small parts of baking soda into the pan, as well as some water, and then you can scrub it. The baking soda works to soften the residue, making it quite easy to remove and get rid of.

3. Burned sticky food material: When food substances, like milk, get burnt into the pan cleaning it will be quite a task because it is tough and sticky. Baking soda, is the solution to this, once again, plus a few drops of vinegar. Baking soda and vinegar will result to some bubbles forming; after which, you can sprinkle the pan with some water over the foam that was formed and then allow it to simmer in low flame for about five minutes. After it cools off, you can get a soft scrub to effectively get rid of the sticky residue on your stainless steel pan.

4. White spots on the surface of the pan: When the water you used for cooking contain high levels of calcium, it can produce white spots and these can be removed by making a mixture of vinegar plus three parts of water. You can leave this mixture to boil in the same cookware, and then let it cool down. You, then, have to wash it with soapy water.
5.Burned food on the outer surface: When cleaning stains on the outer surface, you have to be careful not to scratch the surface and make the pan look unsightly and unpolished. You can always use a regular kind of cleanser plus effective additions of vinegar that will completely get rid of the cleanser.
