What About Trucks?

I love this subject because it speaks to one of my favorite things…..Trucks! Trucks are a very necessary part of human life because they do exactly what they set out to do. They pick up, they drop off. They carry you where you need to go and bring you back again. Trucks are a major part of the transportation industry because they deliver.

Knowing all about trucks is always a plus. And, knowing what kind of truck you like more than another speaks to your willingness to explore the many dealerships and owners. For example, if you’re looking for a specific make and model truck to do the work that you have plans for, you may look either in the phone book, the Internet, on billboards, in newspapers or car and truck magazines, to find out what they carry before you visit. Chances are they have a variety of options for you to choose from. There are many styles, sizes, frames, colors, engine power, tire widths, creature comforts, and necessary equipment like airbags and child-seat adjustments. These days, trucks have everything cars have, and more.

Trucks seem to have a life of their own. When you see a truck coming down the street beside you, you tend to be a little more awake in the driving department because you know that this is a very powerful vehicle that can do damage if provoked. But, by the same token, a truck can also be a life saver. Being in a strong and powerful vehicle like a truck on a busy highway or road coming home from work, tends to leave people in cars more alert and aware of what’s beside or in front of them. I don’t think I have ever seen anyone purposely run into a truck, big or small. Instead, caution was the word of the day.

There is Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, AMC, Toyota, Nissan and others who carry the best trucks ever made. My favorite is the Ford F-150. This beauty can travel 16 miles street and 24 highway. The F150 can pick up and carry just about anything that you need to move. It can even haul a boat across country if you need it to or, another truck! And, when you get one, get it fitted with an extang engineered roll-top style tonneau cover for its bed. Having one keeps the elements from shortening the life of your truck and these truck bed covers come hard or soft and can be installed very easily in about 15 minutes.

If you love trucks like I do, then you’ll do whatever it takes to protect them. Keep it in a garage at night or on days that the weather doesn’t cooperate. Limit the amount of people you haul in your truck, I do! There can be as much wear-and-tear on a truck as there is on any other type vehicle. Besides, if you need to haul a family of 6, perhaps a truck is not what you need.

Are you the kind of person that likes riding up high more than you do down low? Then there’s no contest……get a truck! For sure you’ll never have to look up (unless you’re looking up to a 18 wheeler) to ask if you can get over into the next lane. People see you coming and accommodate you each and every time when you’re riding in a truck.
