The Fundamental Elements of Success

Success is the state or condition of a person experiencing positive, favorable, and advantageous results through a carefully drawn out plan and strategy. This utmost desired outcome is the product of focus, hard work, patience, and perseverance of the person desiring the same. Success does not come by luck or chance. It is something one has to exert the necessary amount of efforts in doing the means to attain such wanted end. The serious caveat for those who work hard for success is that they should not sacrifice honor over success. Once a person is extremely obsessed with success, he or she has high tendencies of jeopardizing the good principles and moral foundations previously inculcated, groomed, and nurtured in one’s consciousness. The characters of honesty, truthfulness, fairness, and the value of integrity would most certainly get affected when a person applies the hook or by crook attitude in reaching success. The results of this wrong path towards success are the weakening of personal and social relationships, alienation of the person to the self, family, and even to success itself. This gloomy side of the great word success is attributed to the objectification and commercialization of success.

Nowadays, success is measured by majority of the people or family, as the case may be, according to their material possessions, financial strength, and economic status. As such, success is correlated with wealth, influence, and power. Although there may be a tinge of truth to this statement, it cannot be said with exclusivity and utter disregard to the philosophical and ideal definition of success. The abovementioned statement regarding success augments the argument that most of the people have regarded success as an end one has to receive at all cost to provide for a better life. The purpose is precisely correct but to say that it should be achieved by hook or by crook would be nugatory to the basic idea and element of success, and that is, happiness.

Happiness is a condition closely defined and related to the concepts of contentment, pleasure, blissfulness, cheerfulness, and elation. These fundamental aspects or elements of genuine success cannot be acquired the person achieves them in fraudulent, unfair, and deceptive manner. The person’s conscience, spirit, and mind cannot rest and function properly if they are preoccupied with the possible repercussions should their unjust act be discovered by others. Thus, despite the seemingly joyous and ecstatic mood one will exhibit, he or she would not enjoy real happiness because everytime that person is alone, the conscience, spirit, and mind will always bother him or her about such immoral acts performed against somebody else.

Hence, success must not be regarded as a mere end. Whatever success one achieves, the same must be lived so others may be inspired and follow such good and fair practice in enjoying genuine success. No matter how enticing these benefits reaped when one attains success, one must faithfully remember the fundamental elements of real success to ensure that one success comes in, it shall be genuine and pure, without any strings that could pull it back and away from that person.
