How to Quit Smoking For a Keep?

Smoking is a kind of vice that’s very hard to let go. But there is always a way when you are determined enough to quit smoking for a lifetime benefit. You have to actualize quitting not just saying it. And when you are able to do so, you have to quit for a keep. There will be so many temptations that you will go through when you start to quit but these are just for quite some time. You will be able to let go of it little by little.

When you start to quit, you should have a very strong determination and will power to avoid temptations. You have to quit for good before it is too late to save you from a lung cancer. There are already so many ex-smokers who have successfully made a deal to quit smoking for good. Smoking is always wrong for your lungs. You will never ever get something good out of it. You will have a better chance of success when you follow the steps I will give here.

First of all, you have to prepare yourself for the quitting process. You have to decide with a positive thought that you want to quit. Never ever entertain negative thoughts. You consistently think about the negative things that smoking could give to you. This will be your reason for quitting. Then, when you are already prepared mentally for quitting, begin to condition yourself physically. Start to exercise every day, drink more and more water, get plenty of rest and avoid stress and fatigue. Then, set a target date for quitting. Second, have realistic expectations when you quit. Like what I said, quitting is not as easy as what you thought. There will be withdrawal symptoms since your body is already dependent of nicotine, once you start quitting, you will temporarily experience these withdrawal symptoms for 1-2 weeks. You have to expect that it will be your hardest time. Avoid going out with people whom you know who are smokers to keep you away from temptations. Even if you experience these things, never ever feel discouraged. Just continue what you are doing. Never ever give up! Smoking is not a very hard habit to break.

Make sure you have someone who is very close with you to keep you on track. Someone you could trust and is also willing to help you with your quitting decision. This person will check your day to day activities and will help you get away with it. You do not actually totally shut down yourself from cigarettes on the first day of smoking. You can lessen your number of sticks per day. Remember it is a gradual change. You have to make smoking unpleasant and inconvenient little by little so you will not suffer a lot.

When you have successfully done quitting, start a new lifestyle that will take away your attention from the bad habit. Never ever think of smoking anymore. It will be hard for you if you think about it over and over again. You have to exercise early in the morning like jogging and stretching at the park.
