Tricks to Getting in Shape on a Budget
Fitness boomed in the ’90s, and the tempered off a bit. There is a resurgence of the physical fitness phenomenon once again. Everyone seems to want a life fitness elliptical and a new pair of running shoes. It seems that after America grew so obese, everyone panicked and is ready to be thin again. Well, pick up those dumbbells and get going. Not so easy? Working out isn’t easy for some people. There are those who love running and lifting weights, and there are those who can’t wait for life fitness equipment that works while they are sleeping. There are also those people who can’t afford to go to a nice gym, or be personally trained. Here are some great work out tips for people on a budget.
Obviously you can run outside, but that isn’t always as easy as it sounds. The best way to go about this is to find a walking or running buddy. The motivation they give you, and the motivation you feel obligated to give will keep you going! Also, having someone to talk to is a great way to make it seem more life fun. You can kill two birds with one stone. Exercising can seem to take up a huge chunk of your day, cutting into personal time. By finding an exercise partner, you won’t feel like you’re missing a thing.
Next, invest in an exercise ball. A lot of people will write these off as silly or too difficult to use. In fact, they are one the most pieces of exercise equipment ever made. You can work almost every area of your body using these (sometimes needing to pair with free weights). They are phenomenal for strengthening core and shaping great abs. You can even deflate them if you don’t have enough storage space. If you are a man, don’t write these off because they seem like women work outs. They are as manly as you make them.
You should also buy a set of free weights. You will need them in conjunction with your exercise ball. You might be surprised at how effective these are as well. People constantly ignore free weighs because they are not as flashy as big weight machines, but that is a huge mistake. Free weights are the best way to work out your body. The resistance from your own body working against gravity adds a whole other component to working out.
Over all this will probably cost you fifty dollars for a good set of free weights and fifty dollars for a good exercise ball. Keep in mind that most gym are forty dollars a month alone. Your only other costs are gym shoes and good exercise clothes, which you’d need if you were going to the gym as well. Exercising is about being active and healthy, not rich. If you have the will you can find a way. There is no reason for you to not look great simply because you don’t have money to throw around. Hopefully this will help you get off your butt and on your feet.
