What’s the Real Meaning of Life?

In the last few years, the number of single people who have adopted their own children has increases. This is due as much to the many unmarried and successful individuals who feel a gnawing lack of personal fulfillment in themselves as to the open-mindedness with which single-parent adoption has come to be regarded. In fact, adoption and foster care no longer just tolerates it but of encouraging single-parent adoption. It has produced very good results both for the children and the parents in a great majority of cases.

Adoption and foster care fulfills the desire to share life

Many unmarried professionals have reached a more than satisfactory level of material security in life and wish to share their goods with less privileged people. As everyone should be aware of, Material possessions do not hold the secret to living a happy life.

Of course, most people will have their nephews and nieces to focus their attention on. But, unless those children are themselves orphans, single people can not regard them as their own. Nephews and nieces may pay their aunt visits every so often and may even stay over for a night or two but will never stand in the relationship as an adopted child would.

Ever since the law allowed single parents to take in children from foster homes, they no longer have to content themselves with knowing something about being a parent. They have every right now have their own children for whom they will be honored to take responsibility and whose welfare they can use every means in their power to promote and safeguard. Helping the child to grow to be a responsible member of society is an action that blesses both parent and child. In addition, they won’t have to worry who gets to inherit their possessions when the time comes for that.

Giving grace where it is lacking through adoption and foster care

With adoption by a single parent, the child stands a better chance for actualizing himself. When children are adopted in a family that has siblings already, they may feel inferior or inhibited for a time. Besides that, the possibility that they will not be liked by the other siblings cannot be ruled out. On the other hand, this opportunity to share blessings with the less fortunate will prove very beneficial for the adopting parent herself because an important part of being human is sharing your life with others.

Adoption and foster care helps society

When single people adopt their own children, they are actually doing society a big favor. For one, they stand to broaden their perspective on life and in that way improve their own personalities. There are things that interacting as a parent can teach that cannot be learned from books. People living alone tend to lack the ability of empathizing and adjusting to others. Adoption is one good way of developing the habits that contribute to social interaction.

The child’s own self-image is given a boost because he knows he has been specially chosen by his adoptive parent from among many other children. Living in a foster home cannot improve that morale very much. That is why when children in foster homes stay there only until a certain age.

Currently, there is still a great need for adaptive families. Even if you are single, you may qualify.
