Security Training Saves Time And Money For Companies And Governments Alike

Along with the need to keep company secrets came the upsurge in IT security companies who offer to train staff and personnel in keeping secrets. IT certification is a way of ensuring that the company hangs on to its valuable information so that the competition does not get hold of upcoming events or launches etc.

Cyber spying has become such big business these days that even governments have been wringing their hands not knowing what to do next. Of course, it is obvious that governments have secrets which they do not want let out of the bag, but how do they keep things under wraps when there are so many clever hackers out there?

Well, as the saying goes, it takes a thief to catch a thief, and with this in mind, many companies and governments alike actually employ several of the best to keep hackers out of the system. This rather novel approach has improved their lot for sure but the fight is changing all the time. Sitting back and waiting for people to hack in is really not the best thing to do as many governments will attest to.

In the US, the defense system was actually hacked into at one time, and by a school boy no less! Imagine if this could be done by an enemy of the states and think what would happen if the defense system was knocked out for some time. The results are too horrendous to think about particularly in these days of terrorist attacks etc. However, by getting in the experts, they certainly lessen the chance of having some unwanted intruder getting into the system.

On the company front, some have started cross training personnel from different departments to give a kind of blanket coverage of their operations. Indeed, by training all kinds of personnel from different areas, they all begin to meld together and protect the company. Some highly sensitive information will certainly be held on a ‘need to know’ basis but even the general running routines of the company may be interesting to some.

For example, if the company gets its payroll in cash on a certain day of the week, and by the same route every time, robbers would love to have this kind of information up front so they can plan to attack at weak points along the route. Likewise, industrial secrets about new innovations that are being developed is another way for competing companies to usurp their position by bringing out the same product before the launch at greatly reduced prices.

All these examples include highly sensitive information which the erstwhile spy can sell at huge rates if that is what they want to do. However, by making the personnel aware of what is secret and how to contain those secrets, they also become the eyes and ears of the company if one of them is tempted to go bad.

It is obvious then that this kind of training is highly desirable for anyone who wants to keep their company successful and profitable at the same time.
