Make Your Holidays Child-Free
Everybody is excited on just the thought of holidays drawing near. For kids, this only mean more time for play and less time for school work which also means they can pretty much do whatever they want when they want it. For most parents, this meant waking up to a stress-free morning because they won’t be busy preparing for breakfast and snacks to send their kids to school. Holidays only meant rest from all the rush brought about by regular school days.
However, some parents dread the holidays because it only meant preparing for more activities for their children to keep them from going all nuts about it. Well, there are several things that may arouse the interest of your children to keep your holidays child-free. Here are some tips on what you can ask your kids to do that won’t be asking much from you emotionally and financially.
1. Well for a change you can ask your kids to go into the scavenger hunt. This kind of game will all begin with you hiding something around the house. It could from a small matchbox to a bigger piece of toy like a stuffed toy. You can choose their Halloween costume wigs among the many things that your kids may be interested to look for. You can do certain modifications for this game like asking one of your children to wear a Halloween wig a list of the things that he wants to hide and will give the number as another clue for the others. Either way, this activity will keep your children busy looking for the things that you hid so you can spend that quiet afternoon reading a book or taking a nap. Try to make the game more exciting by giving them rewards for every item in the list that they could find.
2. Cooking time could be a very fun time for the kids. Well, it is really not the serious type of cooking. It is more of baking those sweet goodies that excite the kids. Perhaps you can start with cupcakes and then butter cookies. Anything that is sweet and colorful made from flour is always a fun thing to do. Although you may find yourself a bit tired after the baking session because you need to clean up but that part can also be very fun. Perhaps you can ask your kids to do the cleaning up to. Maybe you can make it a contest among them and give a price to whoever gets to clean up their space first.
3. Household chores can also be a fun way to spend the holiday mornings. It may come as a surprise to many but the holidays can be a great time to ask your kids to help you out doing the household chores. Doing it together is where the fun part really comes. Chores do not need to be too tiring and deadly for the kids. You can ask them to fix their beds or pick their toys or something of that sort.
There are so many ways on how holidays can be spent but the best way perhaps is spending it with your children and loving every moment of it.
