Animals

The zoo at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has over 2,800 animals and is the fourth largest zoo in the United States. Most of the animals are African natives descending from the areas mentioned above. A walk through the Serengeti Plain affords a great view of the giraffes. Watch the gorillas in the Myombe Reserve and hippos on the Edge of Africa.

Going off-roading in a jeep is a great way to take a break from walking. Join the Rhino Rally to get close to the animals and catch a glimpse of how they interact with one another. African animals aren\’t the only animals on display. The well known Budweiser Clydesdales reside in the Clydesdale Hamlet and are there for those that wish to see the horses in person.

There are lots of rides to go on at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay such as delightful roller coaster riders. The park has six roller coasters including one that is family oriented. One of the newest additions to park is Sheikra. The floors on the carts have been removed giving riders a clear view of what\’s beneath them as they go over a ninety degree drop making the Sheikra an innovative ride.

Shows

A visit to Busch Gardens can be completed by taking in one of the many shows this theme park has to offer. Katonga, one of the parks most loved shows, runs about thirty-five minutes long and is truly African in nature. The show is a musical based on the life of African storytellers that persist in perfecting storytelling about African animal folklore.

After a day of going on over twelve of the parks rides or taking in a few of the seven shows offered, there are plenty of places to sit down and dine or grab a quick bite to eat. Overlook the Serengeti Plain while dining at the Crown Colony Restaurant, refuel at a cafe or bistro or grab a quick snack. Quench your thirst at one of the markets or shacks.

Ticket prices range depending on packages. Florida resident, Florida visitor, vacation packages and group prices are available. Single admission for adults is $61.95 for a day and $51.95 for children.
